This project consisted of an addition and renovation of the single storey greyhound terminal. The
renovation consisted of 10 new offices, a parcel delivery room, 2 washrooms, storage and 29 gas fired
air curtains. The new structure was built on a foundation of concrete driven piles and grade beams; the
structure itself was steel framed with steel joists and metal decking. The purpose of the new building
was for a waiting area, convenient shops and 120 lockers for the public. As well, for employees there is
12 new offices, a board room, call center and driver rooms.
LDA was responsible to ensure that the design and documentation of this design build project were
completed quickly. The foundations were constructed prior to the completion of the architectural
drawings. As the engineers of record, our responsibilities also included construction phase services
including coordination with the builder, review of shop drawings and final certification.
